Rental Requirements & Payment
Cash, valid voucher, credit/debit card must be produced at the time of the rental. Full name, residential, postal and physical address and telephone number. Unendorsed original Driver’s license and passport or identity document. Overseas renter must produce valid National and International Drivers license, Certificate of authenticity optional, where applicable. Where the rental requires a credit card, a deposit is required on initiation of the rental.

We require a 20% deposit with confirmation of your booking. Balance is due on arrival. All prices are including VAT.
All rentals are made subject to the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement. Renter refers to any party to this agreement whether the driver, additional driver or authorized signatory. Daily rates are calculated strictly in cycles of 24 hours, from time of pick up to time of drop off. Second Spare Wheels are included with all 4x4 vehicles.. If the vehicle is driven by anyone other than you, you shall remain liable for all your obligations in terms of this agreement as if you had been the driver. The vehicle is deemed to be returned only once the keys have been returned to Two Oceans Car Rental and final inspection by both parties. You agree that you are not allowed to permit any towing, repairs or servicing to be done to the vehicle unless authorized by Two Oceans Car Rental. No Dune-and/or Deep water driving permitted. Second spare tyre will only be made available on request. We reserve the right of substituting vehicles should the booked vehicle not be available.
Driver of the vehicle rented with Two Oceans Car Rental should be at least 23 years of age and has held a driver’s license, documented in English, for a minimum of two (2) years.
An additional 2nd driver is authorized only if you pay an additional driver charge (N$ 500.00) and provided that the additional driver has held a driver’s license, documented in English, for a minimum of two (2) years. In the event of the driver being under 23 years, a young driver surcharge of N$3000.00 will apply providing the driver has held a driver’s license for a minimum of two (2) years.
Delivery of Vehicle/Equipment
Renter shall take delivery of the vehicle/equipment at the place specified in the rental agreement. Two Oceans Car Rental cannot accept responsibility for late delivery of vehicle due to circumstances outside of our control. Pick ups’ or Drop offs of vehicles outside normal office hours, must be arranged for at time of confirmation of the rental period. Transfers from and to Windhoek International Airport and Eros Airport must also be arranged for on date of confirmation of the rental. Two Oceans Car Rental office hours are Monday – Friday: 08H00 to 13H00 and 14H00 to 17H00.The Renter acknowledges that the vehicle/equipment is delivered by Two Oceans Car Rental free of any damage and in good order and repair (unless such damage is recorded in writing).
On the rental must be arranged for 48 hours before termination of the contract under condition that payment must be arranged for on the day of extension of the rental period.
Due to mechanical failure will only commence once a regional service supplier declares the vehicle not repairable within 9 hours from the time of reporting the breakdown. Cost of damages inflicted to vehicles through negligence by the renter; will be deductible from the renters’ excess.
An Accident Report Number
Must be obtained from the nearest police station within 24 hours from the occurrence of the damage/accident for insurance purposes – in failing to do so, the renter will be held fully responsible for any damages or losses. All details of third parties or eyewitnesses must be recorded and reported to Two Oceans Car Rental as soon as possible.
Return of Vehicle/Equipment
Failure to return the vehicle/equipment in terms of this agreement shall constitute illegal possession of the vehicle/equipment by the renter. Two Oceans Car Rental may repossess of the vehicle/equipment at their discretion. Failure to return the keys/equipment will result in the rental being billed up until the keys/equipment are returned to Two Oceans Car Rental. The vehicle/equipment shall be at the renter’s sole risk from the date of delivery up and until the vehicle is returned to Two Oceans Car Rental. Vehicle is refuelled on termination irrespective of whether renter has refuelled the vehicle and the renter may be liable for the refuelling fee and the cost of the fuel. Failure to return the vehicle/equipment in terms of this agreement shall constitute illegal possession of the vehicle/equipment by the renter. Two Oceans Car Rental may repossess of the vehicle/equipment at their discretion. Failure to re return the keys/equipment will result in the rental being billed up until the keys/equipment are returned to Two Oceans Car Rental. The vehicle/equipment shall be at the renter’s sole risk from the date of delivery up and until the vehicle is returned to Two Oceans Car Rental. Vehicle is refuelled on termination irrespective of whether renter has refuelled the vehicle and the renter may be liable for a refuelling fee and the cost of the fuel. The cleaning of vehicles will be performed by Two Oceans Car Rental. Inspection for damage can only be done after the cleaning process and therefore the deposit will only be void once the vehicle has been cleaned.
Choosing Standard or Inter and Super waivers render the renter’s liability to the reduced liability amount charged in the event of loss or damage to the vehicle. The renter is responsible for the full replacement value of the vehicle should loss or damage be caused due to wrong and/or illegal actions or omissions (see list of factors that negate the waivers). In the event of damage or loss, the renter is liable for the maximum of payable excess amount of 19.5% of total damage when: 1. The vehicle is uneconomical to repair. 2.Where the road conditions are unsuitable for driving. In the event of loss or damage to the vehicle and where the renter has chosen to decline waivers, the renter will be liable for all loss or damage o the replacement value of the vehicle regardless of fault. In the event of damage to the undercarriage and/or glass of the vehicle Two Oceans Car Rental may exclude such damage from the waiver. Accepting Tyres and Glass waiver absolves the renter of any liability or cost related to either repairing or replacing tyres and /or glass on the vehicle should they be damaged by circumstances that are beyond the renter’s control if the waiver is declined, the renter will be liable for the full amount or repairing or replacing the damaged tyres and/or glass. The client indemnifies Two Oceans Car Rental cc for partial or total failure to conclude a contract due to mechanical and or other defects, breakdown, accident and any other cause including strikes, fire and any act of God. Two Oceans Car Rental will not be liable for any claim, damages or expenses as a result from occurrence of the events as mentioned. Two Oceans Car Rental is not liable for death, injuries, personal damage and/or loss.
Factors that Negate Waivers
Any wrong and /or illegal actions or failure to act which result in damage or loss of the vehicle. Driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal substances or any substance that diminishes your capacity and unauthorized persons driving the vehicle. Unauthorized cross border rentals. Not adhering to traffic, road and driving regulations. Failing to report the collision or damage to Two Oceans Car Rental and the nearest Police Station within 24 hrs of the incident. Failure in reporting the loss to Two Oceans Car Rental and Police Station within 6 hours in the event of theft. Failure to produce the vehicle keys in case of then unless exceptional circumstances apply. Not reporting the exact details of the last known location of the vehicle prior to theft. Failure to obtain authorization from Two Oceans Car Rental and effect payment for rental extensions Not using the vehicle for its intended purpose. And damage to vehicle/equipment. Should the waivers be negated Two Oceans Car Rental will repudiate any third-party claims. Personal belongings stolen or lost are not covered.
Damage or Loss
Renter is required to contact Two Oceans Car Rental immediately in the event of loss or damage and a full report must be made to the nearest Police Station within at least 24 hours where an accident as occurred and 6 hours in the case of loss. A Police case file number must be obtained. A Claim form must be completed, obtainable from Two Oceans Car Rental. Where the vehicle is not drivable, phone Two Oceans Car Rental and an authorized towing company will be appointed to uplift the vehicle. Should you wish to appoint an assessor, this is to be done within 72 hours of the accident. Failing which we reserve the right to appoint our own. Supplying a replacement vehicle after a damage or loss incident is entirely at our own discretion and we reserve our right accordingly. Two Oceans Car Rental is not responsible for loss/theft of personal belongings.
Should the renter be involved in an accident where the fault was not that of the renter, the renter is still responsible and liable for the non-waiver able standard or super reduced liability until a third party recovery has been made by Two Oceans Car Rental. Two Oceans Car Rental will reimburse the renter the liability amount or the pro rata amount once we have received full settlement from the third party. The amount reimbursed is determined by previous case law and the offer received and will be split accordingly between the renter and the third party. Assessor’s fee, towing, storage and claim handling fee is not refundable regardless of a successful third-party recovery.
Cross Border Travelling
No cross-border travel without consent from Two Oceans Car Rental. Permitted countries are the following Namibia to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. NO VEHICLES ALLOWED IN ZAMBIA.
The renter is responsible for the installation of any accessories rented and as such accepts liability for such accessories.
Right to Disclosure & Information
The renter is liable for the cost of towing, as well as any unauthorized towing, storage, release, glass, tyres, rims, water and under-carriage damage to vehicle. Should a vehicle require valet cleaning the valet charges will be billed to the renter. Should the renter disobey the traffic regulations which results in a fine, such notice will be directed to the renter and the renter will be charged a fine admin fee. All open road tolling fees incurred will be charged to the renter. The renter accepts the Policies of the Insurance Company as entered into by Two Oceans Car Rental. In the event of loss and damage to the vehicle/equipment a claim handling fee will be charged to the renter. Toll fees, fuel or game park entrance fees is the responsibility for the Renter.
Right to Equality
The renter is satisfied that Two Oceans Car Rental did not unfairly discriminate against them, treats them unfairly or in a manner that is different from the manner in which any other customer is treated in respect of the service provided.
Right to Fair & Honest Dealings
Renter acknowledge that he/she has enough opportunity to consider all the implications of this agreement and have entered into it of own free will and without any undue influence.
Two Oceans Car Rental its agents or employees shall not be liable for any damage or loss, whether direct, Indirect, arising out of any defect in or mechanical failure or the safety of the vehicle or out driving or use of the vehicle nor for any direct or indirect loss, consequential damages, loos of profits or special damages arising out of any of the a foregoing. Two Oceans Car Rental, its agents or employees do not accept any liability for any loss of or damage to any property transported in or left in the vehicle or any other damages or loss as a result of the conveyance of the driver and/or any passengers. No warranties as to the condition, state of repair, performance capabilities, year of manufacture, odometer reading or anything else concerning the vehicle are given by Two Oceans Car Rental.
All notices and legal processes in terms hereof shall be given to the renter at the address set out in the rental agreement (renter’s chosen legal address”. Any notice posted to renter shall be deemed to be received 7 days after posting unless renter proves otherwise. Renter consent to the Geographic area of the Magistrates Court having authority over its person in respect of any proceedings arising from this agreement. The English version of this prevail in the event of dispute. This is the entire agreement and no variation or cancellation shall be valid unless in writing and signed by renter and Two Oceans Car Rental. Two Oceans Car Rental may claim and recover from renter on demand all costs and expenses incurred by Two Oceans Car Rental in consequence, directly or indirectly, of any breach by renter of this agreement, including attorney-and-cent costs, collection commission and any costs of tracing the renter or the vehicle. A provision of this agreement which is invalid or unenforceable for any reason shall be severable from the rest of this agreement and shall not affect the validity of the agreement as a whole. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
Any complaints regarding the services rendered by Two Oceans Car Rental must be lodged with Two Oceans Car Rental before the client leaves the country. Complaints received after the client’s departure from the country will be treated as irrelevant and unfair.
